Landsat International Cooperators |

| Overview: | The DOI/USGS Landsat Program has concluded International
agreements with eleven foreign governments to establish cooperative data-access
and data-exchange arrangments with their respective ground receiving stations.
The USGS provides a direct downlink to Landsat 5 and/or Landsat 7 data,
and collects annual cost sharing (or campaign) fees. The USGS retains ownership
of all raw Landsat data. The International Cooperator must maintain an archive
for at least ten years, and must ensure that all Landsat data is available
for sale and distributed on a public non-discriminatory basis. The IC also
agrees to exchange data with the USGS for key government programs, and for
quality assurance purposes. The IC is may set product prices, place copyrights,
and restrict re-distribution. |

| USGS Mission Tie In: |
By working collaboratively with other nations
in downlinking Landsat imagery, the USGS continues to maintain a global
archive of existing and future Landsat-type remote sensing data at the EROS
Data Center. The IC`s maintain a much more extensive archive of Landsat
imagery within their circles of coverage, and these scenes are available
to the USGS under the Data Exchange policy. Further, the IC`s must give
the USGS first right of refusal before purging Landsat data from their archives. |
